Philip "Olumide" Gilbert

New York percussion virtuoso, Olumide, has been making his way down to Virginia for many years now as an Artist in Residence for the Virginia Commission for the Arts Artist. He teaches in Richmond and Charlottesville, accompanies African and other dance performances and performs with the finest jazz artists wherever he goes. He used to drop by Mike's basement with his conga to check out the Soko:Two tracks under construction and throwing some rhythms into the mix. Eventually, he joined Houston and MIke at Haunted Hollow Studios to play the percussion parts on "Antidote," the most popular track on the album (also featuring the great cellist, David Darling).
